Financial Analysis Case Studies

This section of the web site contains a series of financial analysis case studies. As with all case studies on this site, these case studies are intended to comprise a mixture of subject specific analysis and Excel 2007 analysis.

The broad aim of these case studies, then, is to be open ended, level two cases calling on the user to apply their knowledge from two points of view. By the end of a case study, the analyst will have come to some conclusions in terms of the subject matter under reivew. The analyst will also have used sufficient Excel 2007 formulas, functions and techniques to make their analysis convincing, robust and of high quality.

A reading of the book that accompanies this web sie, Excel 2007 with Excel Master, will reap great rewards for any financial analyst.

Financial Analysis Case Study: BP, Repsol and Royal Dutch Shell

The purpose of this case study is to encourage you to combine both financial analysis and Excel 2007 functionality. By the end of this case study you will not only have analysed three Oil & Gas industry companies but you will also have used a wide variety of Excel 2007 formulas, functions and techniques. However, because this is an open ended case study, the exact nature of the analysis is not something that can simply be written down and applied: the case can be considered at least a level two case, therefore.

Other Financial Analysis Case Studies

At the time of writing there is just one case study to be found in this section. However, over the next few weeks we intend for there to be at least two further cases. Over the longer term the number of financial analysis cases should build so that anyone trying to combine financial analysis with an understanding and application of Excel 2007 will find this section of this web site an admirable source!
