Excel 2007 Videos
This page is the launch pad for the videos we have made on some of the aspect of how to do specific things in Excel 2007.
We will be preparing videos from time to time either because we think the subject of a particular video is necessary or because one of our visitors has requested it.This means you are free to write to us and ask us to deomonstrate one or more of Excel 2007's features in a video and we will do our best.
We intend that the videos will be as simple as possible to follow. This means that they should not take more than 5 - 10 minutes or even less to watch.
The Excel 2007 Ribbon
This video has the sole purpose of reviewing the Ribbon that has appeared for the first time in Excel 2007. A lot of people have refused to upgrade to Excel 2007 because they have heard that the ribbon is a monster. Please watch this video with an open mind. This video is not intended to make you a ribbon master. The video just shows you how it works and how you will find most of your old friends still there and very easy to find.
Installing the ToolPak Add-In
The Data Analysis ToolPak is an Excel 2007 add-in that anyone with the least bit of an interest in the analysis of data ought to install and use. This short video has the sole purpose of showing you how to install the add-in and no more. Other pages and other videos will demonstrate a variety of aspects of the ToolPak.
Introduction to the Goal seek Function
The Goal Seek function is a very useful utility that is very useful in working through a variety of what if? analyses one change or one variable at a time. Unlike ruotines such as the SOLVER Goal Seek cannot do so much all at once. However, you can build a relatively sophisticated model as well as a simple model and Goal Seek will do what you want. In this video we explore the ins and outs of taking out a mortgage and testing out ways in which we can change the monthly payment to suit our wallet!
Preparing a Booklet in Word 2007
I was asked to use my, ahem, superior knowledge of MS Word 2007 to prepare a booklet. Well, little did I know that whilst it's not difficult, it wasn't as simple as I'd thought it was going to be. Having researched how to prepare such a booklet I deceided to make this video for the world to learn. And why not?
Gantt Charts with Coloured Bars
On my other web site there is a page that describes in detail how to prepare a basic Gantt Chart using a spreadsheet. The other day Tony Miller wrote and asked me if I could prepare a Gantt Chart in which the bars are different colours. So, your wish is my command: take a look at this video file and see how it's done!
